Why Krillion rejects an answer you know is right
1. It isn't on the list
Every prompt has a fixed list of accepted answers, built from dictionaries, encyclopedias and similar datasets and then merged and cleaned. Krillion's own FAQ is candid about the result: when a fair answer is missing, it is usually because a source was missed. Lists run from a dozen answers to several thousand, and the longer the list, the more likely a real but niche answer slipped through.
2. The brackets rule it out
The small print matters. On September 16, 2026 the prompt was "Name a cat breed (coat patterns don't count)". Tabby, Calico and Tortoiseshell are what many people picture first, and none of them is on the list of 135 breeds, because they are coat colours, not breeds. Siamese and Maine Coon are.
3. It is too specific
Some prompts group answers under a general name. "Name a type of living bird (general types; species names are grouped)" on October 2, 2026 accepted Eagle, Owl, Penguin and Robin, but not Bald eagle, Emperor penguin or American robin: those are species of a type already on the list. The grouping isn't perfectly even (Barn owl made it in), so if a specific answer fails, try the plain word for its type.
4. Autocorrect matched something else
Krillion forgives small typos, and it checks every alias of every answer while doing so. Its FAQ gives the classic case: "sea monkey" is one letter away from "sea donkey", an alias of the Threebanded Sheephead, so a guess can land on an answer you never meant. If the game credits you with something odd, retype your answer carefully, in full.
5. It was accepted, just not worth much
A low score is not a rejection. On October 20, 2026, "Name something sold as a stick or in sticks" accepted Butter, but as an Obvious answer worth 10 points, while the gem, Miswak, scored 100. Answers marked Too clever are accepted too: they only feel rare. In both cases the move is to keep guessing for something rarer while the clock runs.
What to try next
- Read the prompt again, brackets included, and make sure your answer meets every condition.
- Go one level more general: the type instead of the species, the brand instead of the product.
- Use the most common name: the full official name, or the everyday one, rather than a local nickname.
- Check your spelling letter by letter, especially for names with accents or double letters.
- If the clock is running, move on: wrong guesses cost nothing, only time.
How to report a missing answer
Answer lists are maintained by the Krillion team, not by us. If an answer is clearly correct and missing, tell them: the official FAQ at krillion.io lists support@krillion.io as its contact address. Include the date, the prompt and your answer, plus a source that shows it fits.
FAQ
- Is this the official Krillion answer list?
- It is a copy of the official answer list, saved every day after the 04:00 UTC reset and refreshed hourly, because the Krillion team adds answers during the day. This site is independent and not affiliated with krillion.io.
- Why did Krillion give me a different answer than the one I typed?
- Autocorrect matched your guess to the nearest name it knows, sometimes an alias of another answer. See reason 4 above.
- Can I practise without the daily limit?
- Yes. Krillion Unlimited serves past prompts with the same checking, as many runs as you like, and Krillion answers today has hints for the current dive.
